We eat long noodles (for a long life), and always save leftovers into the new year (for carry over from one year to the next). We get red envelopes full of money from my grandma - but only if we can successfully say "happy new year" in Chinese! My favorite holiday is Chinese New Year. We only celebrate in the Netherlands and Belgium. Sinterklaas is a very old man who lives in Spain and once a yaer he comes over to bring presents to the little childeren (if they have been good!!!) He brings his helpers (pieten) and the childeren are exciteted and a little scared. I love it because it a dutch tradition that every dutchman, young or old, helps to save for the next generation.
