Get organized!

I must admit that I am a magazine addict. I am currently subscribed to 8 craft or cooking magazines, and I often succumb to others at the grocery store checkout line. I always read through the magazines, rip out all of my favorite things, and then recycle the rest of the magazine. For a long time, I kept all of my cuttings in a folder that was extremely unorganized. I finally upgraded to a binder with tabs, and one of my favorite things to do is to flip through the pages of all of the great crafts and food and sweets that I can’t wait to try. Recently I have not been so great about cleaning up the things I rip out and putting them in page protectors, so soon I had a mess of magazine pages that looked something like this:

ahhhh! So this weekend I made it my task to clean it up again!

I still need to buy some more dividers to add Gardening, Cleaning, and Organization, which is why there are still some loose pages stuck in the front of the binder. But doesn’t it look lovely and organized? Now I can get started on all of the crafts in there!

Also, I love the Martha Stewart Everyday Food magazine, but I felt like a big page protector was a waste for the tiny pages. So I pulled out my sewing machine, sewed a simple line down the center of a page protector, cut a slit below the sew-line, and made it possible to fit more per page.

See, now my binder can be very efficient!!

How do you keep all of your craft and cooking inspiration organized?

I like how you adjusted the page protectors to fit more stuff!

I don’t have a binder for crafts, but I do have a binder called “The Justen Family Manuel.” I keep several sections: Addresses, Menus, Calendars, Cleaning Schedule, Emergency #s, and a few other sections. I think I may utilize the page protector idea to organize my Family binder more!

I love Everday Food, too, and that page protector idea is awesome! Will certainly be trying it! Thanks!

This is completely brilliant! I was keeping them in a scrap book – but that got to be too much of a pain – so now I have massive stacks of stuff like you described! Thanks for sharing your tips with everyone! I cannot wait to give this a try!
