Happy Birthday Dave!

Dave is a big fan of brownies, so I made him a brownie cake for his 26th birthday. And I got to use our beautiful new cake stand that we got for the wedding!

Yum! In the past, I have not had much success getting homemade brownies to taste as good as box brownies. But then my friend Sara told me about these brownies that a friend of hers brought to a party that she swore to me were better than box brownies. So I gave them a try, and wouldn’t you know it, she was right! Check out the recipe under the cut.

Delicious Brownies

Ingredients

2 sticks salted butter, melted

2 cups granulated sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

3 eggs

1 cup all purpose flour

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350* F. Grease a 13X9″ baking pan with butter.
  2. Stir butter, sugar and vanilla extract together.
  3. Add eggs; beat well.
  4. Add remaining ingredients. Stir to combine.
  5. Spread in prepared pan and bake until a butter knife inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs clinging to it; approximately 25 minutes, but may be longer depending on your oven. Let cool a half hour.
  6. Enjoy!!
